<ul class="prose-ul list-disc ml-8"><li value="1">What is estate planning, and who actually needs it?</li></ul> Estate planning is the process of deciding — in advance — who will care for you if you become incapacitated, who will make medical and financial decisions on your behalf, and who will receive your property when you pass away. It is not just for the wealthy or the elderly. If you own a home, have minor children, run a business, have retirement accounts, or simply want to spare your loved ones confusion and conflict, you need a plan. In short: if you have people you love or assets you care about, estate planning is for you. <ul class="prose-ul list-disc ml-8"><li value="1">What is the difference between a will and a trust?</li></ul>A Last Will and Testament is a written instruction that takes effect at death. It names who inherits your property, who serves as personal representative (Florida’s term for executor), and who you nominate as guardian for minor children. A will must go through probate — the court-supervised process of validating the will and transferring assets — which in Florida is public, can take many months, and typically involves attorney and court fees. A revocable living trust, by contrast, is a legal arrangement you create during your lifetime. You transfer your assets into the trust, continue to manage them as trustee, and name a successor trustee to step in if you become incapacitated or pass away. Because assets titled in the trust are no longer in your individual name, they generally avoid probate entirely. Trusts also allow for more sophisticated planning — staggered inheritances for children, asset protection for beneficiaries, privacy, and continuity if you become incapacitated. Neither tool is automatically better. Before opening her own firm, Tiffany practiced as a litigation associate at Phelps Dunbar and as a labor and employment associate at Adams &amp; Reese — both AmLaw 200 firms — where she honed the careful, detail-oriented approach she now brings to every estate plan. She later joined Vanguard Attorneys, where her move to plaintiff’s work deepened her commitment to advocating for everyday families. Tiffany first discovered her love for estate planning while working as a civilian paralegal for the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and that interest became a calling after her grandmother’s home was sold following a long and painful probate process. That loss still motivates Tiffany today, and it fuels her determination to ensure that other families — especially those historically underserved by the estate planning bar — never have to lose their land, their legacy, or their sense of home simply because no one helped them plan. On a personal note, Tiffany is a proud Tampa native who has been married to her husband, Steve, for nearly twenty-five years. After two decades of following Steve’s Air Force career around the world, they returned home to Tampa.&nbsp; Together they are the devoted parents of their daughter, Stephanie, a competitive dancer who keeps Tiffany happily busy as a dance mom. The Love household is also home to three dogs (Valerie, Benny, and Bo), three cats (Zuri, Sampson, and Delilah), and one very beloved bunny (Melody). When she is not in the office or cheering from the sidelines of a dance competition, Tiffany enjoys traveling, reading, and running.
