That's what CAL Prep is built for. We're an online private middle and high school (Grades 6–12) for gifted students who are ready to move faster than a traditional school allows.

Your pace, not the calendar's. CAL Prep moves by grade level, not by school year. A student who is ready can complete two grade levels in one year. No waiting for everyone else to catch up.

College credit in high school. Through our Early College track, students earn up to two years of college credit (an Associate Degree) before high school graduation and apply to universities as sophomores or juniors. That means two years saved, and a transcript that already proves they can handle college.

A pathway with a track record. For families who want more than a plan, our Guaranteed Pathway Programs pair accelerated coursework with full college consulting. Every student who has completed them has been admitted to a top-30 U.S. university.

Online everywhere, in person when it matters. Classes are fully online, so gifted students anywhere in the world can join. Our support centers in San Diego and Seoul are there whenever students need face-to-face help.

CAL Prep: 고등학교를 다니면서, 대학을 2년 먼저 시작합니다

고등학교를 졸업하는 순간, 대학 1·2학년 과정까지 이미 끝나 있다면 어떨까요? 졸업과 동시에 대학교 3학년으로 입학하는 것, CAL Prep에서는 현실입니다.

CAL Prep은 영재 학생을 위한 6–12학년 온라인 사립 중·고등학교입니다. 일반 학교의 속도가 답답한 학생들을 위해 만들어졌습니다.

달력이 아닌, 학생의 속도로. CAL Prep은 1년에 한 학년씩이 아니라 학년 단위로 진행합니다. 준비된 학생은 한 해에 두 개 학년을 마칠 수도 있습니다. 다른 학생들을 기다릴 필요가 없습니다.

고등학교에서 대학 과정까지. 대학 선이수 과정(Early College)을 통해 고교 재학 중 최대 2년의 대학 학점과 준학사(AA) 학위를 취득하고, 대학교 2학년 또는 3학년으로 진학합니다. 2년이라는 시간을 아끼는 것은 물론, 이미 대학 수업을 해낸 성적표로 입시에 나섭니다.

결과로 증명된 진학 경로. 계획 이상의 확신을 원하는 가정을 위해 진학보장 프로그램을 운영합니다. 가속 학업 과정에 대입 컨설팅 전 과정을 더한 프로그램으로, 이 과정을 마친 학생은 한 명의 예외 없이 모두 미국 상위 30위권 대학에 합격했습니다.

Our Story

In 1991, sisters Hannah and Sarah Jung arrived in California as 1.5-generation immigrants. Like most students, they took the traditional path to college. And along the way, they came to a conviction that would shape the rest of their careers: the next generation deserved something better than a one-size-fits-all education.

From 2001, the sisters built their expertise in South Korea as interpreters, translators and English education specialists, working closely with students and families who wanted more from school. In 2011, they returned to the United States and founded CAL Prep, a middle and high school built on their own curriculum and a simple idea: talented students shouldn't have to wait.

Since then, more than 500 students have followed their path into universities. The route may look unconventional: college courses in high school, grade levels completed at a student's own pace, a junior-year start at university. But the results speak for themselves.

Today, Hannah and Sarah are sharing openly how this model began, how it works and what it has achieved. They believe it is not just a different way to reach higher education, but the most effective one.

CAL Prep 이야기

1991년, 정한나·정사라 두 자매는 이민 1.5세로 미국 캘리포니아에 정착했습니다. 저희도 대부분의 학생처럼 평범한 길을 따라 대학에 진학했습니다. 그리고 그 과정에서, 다음 세대만큼은 모두에게 똑같은 틀에 맞춘 교육에서 벗어나야 한다는 강한 신념을 갖게 되었습니다.

2001년부터 저희는 한국에서 통번역가이자 영어 교육 전문가로 활동하며, 더 나은 교육을 찾는 수많은 학생과 학부모를 만났습니다. 그리고 2011년 미국으로 돌아와, 직접 개발한 커리큘럼으로 중·고등학교 CAL Prep을 설립했습니다. "재능 있는 학생이 기다릴 이유는 없다"는 단순한 믿음에서 시작한 학교입니다.

그 후 지금까지 500명이 넘는 학생이 이 길을 통해 대학에 진학했습니다. 고등학교에서 대학 수업을 듣고, 자신의 속도로 학년을 마치고, 대학교 3학년으로 입학하는 길. 처음엔 낯설어 보일 수 있지만, 결과가 그 답을 말해 줍니다.

이제 저희는 이 '이상해 보이지만 가장 이상적인' 진학 루트의 시작과 과정, 그리고 결과를 자신 있게 세상에 공개합니다.
