Andrew D. Ive is the founder of Big Idea Ventures, a global firm building the infrastructure of the bioeconomy. The organization connects entrepreneurs, scientists, corporations, governments, and investors to accelerate the commercialization of breakthrough technologies across food, agriculture, and sustainable materials.

Under Andrew’s leadership, Big Idea Ventures has invested in more than 160 companies across 30 countries.

The firm works with leading global partners including Temasek, AAK, Bühler, Bel Group, Meiji, Givaudan, and Tyson Ventures to identify, develop, and scale new technologies that strengthen global supply chains and advance sustainable production.

Andrew launched one of the first dedicated food tech accelerator programs in New York and leads an international team with offices in New York, Singapore, and Paris. Big Idea Ventures also owns Vevolution, a global platform connecting more than 2,000 startups with investors, corporations, and ecosystem partners.

In addition to investing, Andrew collaborates with corporations and governments to build innovation ecosystems and translate scientific research into new industries aligned with priorities such as food security and sustainable production.

Andrew is a graduate of Harvard Business School. He serves on the Tufts Nutrition Council, advises the Founder Institute in Zurich, and mentors entrepreneurs through the FoodTech Accelerator in Italy and Oxford Entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom.
